Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan today met with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry during an official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
During the meeting, Armenia’s foreign minister stated that the visit serves as a good opportunity to discuss the issues on the bilateral and regional agendas and benchmark the prospects for cooperation.
With satisfaction, the interlocutors stated the significant potential for cooperation between Armenia and Egypt and the dynamics of development and set aside pharmaceutics, tourism, high technologies and creative education as prospective sectors.
In terms of multilateral cooperation, the ministers attached importance to closer and consistent contacts and mutual support within international and regional institutions. The ministers exchanged views on the developments unfolding in the Middle East, North Africa, the Eastern Mediterranean and the South Caucasus and particularly underscored the importance of strengthening of peace and stability in the region, as well as the peaceful settlement of conflicts.
Ministers Mnatsakanyan and Shoukry set aside the protection of religious groups as a major sector for cooperation in the international arena. They also exchanged views on the novel coronavirus and the steps that are being taken to overcome the consequences of the coronavirus at the national level.
