Deputy Mayor of Goris Irina Yolyan posted the following on her Facebook page:
“The State Property Management Committee has put one of the exclusive and historic buildings in Goris on sale. Back in 1950, the building of the home of teachers in Goris became the building of the State Service for Excursions, after which it was turned into a prelacy and later the home of teachers of Goris. In 1870, Mesrop Magistros Archbishop Ter-Movsisyan, who was the coordinator of the council set up for construction of the theater building in Goris, lived in this building. There have been many attempts to sell this building, but it is one of the buildings that was saved with difficulty. I ask to not erase history and then see something useless here. I hope the State Property Management Committee reconsiders. This building can’t be sold.”
