Armenia’s Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopirkin.

A number of issues were discussed, including the urgency of the return of Armenian captives held in Azerbaijan.

The Defender hailed the effective cooperation with the Russian Embassy in Armenia, thanked for the established joint work on the operative exchange of information on the protection of the rights of our compatriots in Russia.

Arman Tatoyan praised the trust-bsed relationship with the Federal Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova.

The Russian Ambassador emphasized the effective cooperation with the Human Rights Defender of Armenia and stressed the need to continue it.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation and exchange of information on human rights.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
