YEREVAN. – Three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and two-time World Chess Cup winners Armenia national chess squad’s top player Levon Aronian will leave Armenia in August. The 38-year-old chess grandmaster told this to reporters, according to NEWS.am Sport.

A get-together with Aronian started Saturday at the Yerevan Chess House. At his talk with the young chess players, the Armenian grandmaster will deliver a lecture, and at the end will answer the audience's questions.
Before moving to the US, Aronian wants to pass on, as much as possible, his experience to future chess players.

Prior to the get-together, he spoke about the purpose of this initiative and his plans to move to the US.

"I will probably move [to the US] in August, when I finish my tournaments in Europe. There are many tournaments during this period; that is why it is not possible to have many meetings with children, future chess players. (…). In a few hours I will have a similar meeting with the youth and adults, too. This initiative will help me sense that my work in Armenia’s chess continues. It will not be the case that I leave Armenia and take my hand out of Armenian chess," said the grandmaster.

Aronian advised the children to dedicate themselves if they want to become good chess players.

As reported earlier, Levon Aronian had announced in a Facebook post on February 26 that he had decided to leave Armenia and play for the US national chess team in the near future and their reasons. The Armenian grandmaster, however, does not represent the USA yet and still represents Armenia in the international chess tournaments.
