I would first like to apologize to all the relatives in connection with the improper storage of the bodies and remains of the [fallen soldiers] that was recorded at the Abovyan [city] branch of the Forensic Medical Center yesterday. The Minister of Health of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, on Tuesday wrote this on Facebook.

"I was my omission that after some relocation I did not personally visit again and be convinced of the details of the storage of the corpses.

(…) an internal investigation, with appropriate consequences, will be conducted in connection with the fact.

(…) the Ministry [of Health] has always worked to provide transparent information and is in constant contact with the relatives of the fallen.

(…) the bodies and remains in the morgues have already been examined, and the information about the results has always been accessible to the relatives," Avanesyan added, in particular.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health issued a statement noting that, "There can be no question of new or ‘hidden’ corpses and remains."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
