The bodies and remains of soldiers are kept in the morgue in the Armenian city of Martuni as well. This is what pathologist-anatomist Artash Khachatryan said during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“The DNA tests have been conducted for all the bodies, the samples have been taken, the expert examination is over, and the bodies and remains are kept in refrigerant conditions,” he stated, adding that he wouldn’t like to mention the number of bodies.

“The bodies and remains have been brought in different periods. They are identified and transferred to the parents. For instance, three bodies were identified and transferred to the parents today. There are many bodies that are identified,” he said, noting that the latest remains and bodies were transported from the morgue in Abovyan.

A few days ago, Internet users disseminated blood-freezing photos taken at a branch of the Scientific-Practical Center of Forensic Medicine in Abovyan, showing the bodies and remains of martyred Armenian soldiers in bags and thrown on the floor. The Ministry of Health confirmed the authenticity of the photos, and acting Minister Anahit Avanesyan apologized, accepting the fact that the remains of the soldiers hadn’t been kept in proper conditions.
