Russian peacekeepers ensure the safety of local residents during hay harvesting in the Askeran district of Nagorno-Karabakh, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.  "Ensuring the safety of agricultural work takes place in the Askeran district. There are a lot of cultivated fields in the area, and they are located in the demarcation zone, " said Igor Sergeev, a representative of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

Residents of the village of Shosh harvest hay in these fields for livestock, and also mow the grass to prevent it from falling.

The agricultural lands were checked for the presence of explosive objects and unexploded ordnance by Russian sappers, the source added. 

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again.
