The football team of Armenia’s journalists participated in the international football championship commemorating renowned Soviet TV commentator Kote Makharadze in Tbilisi and won second place.

There were eight teams from Armenia, Georgia, Lithuania, Moldova, Ukraine (2 teams), Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. They were split into two groups, and the teams that won first and second places made it to the semi-final.

The Armenia and Azerbaijan teams were in different groups. During the semi-final, the Armenian journalists outscored the Kyiv team 4-3, and were defeated by the Moldovans during the final.

The Armenia team’s Vahe Khachatryan was declared the best goalkeeper of the championship.

The Armenia team had serious problems with personnel.

The championship is organized by the Independent Association of Sport Journalists, and the Armenia team’s participation was sponsored by TotoGaming.

In September, the football team of Armenia’s journalists won second place at the traditional championship held in Druskininkay, Lithuania.
