Khachaturyan's predecessor, Armen Sarkissian, resigned in January, saying he did not have the necessary power to deal with the country's political problems.Vahagn Khachaturyan, the new president of Armenia, was sworn into office during a special meeting of the National Assembly on Sunday, according to local news portals.
