The families of Armenia’s reservists who were captured by Azerbaijan in Khtsaberd village of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) are protesting Wednesday in front of the Russian embassy in Yerevan. They demand the return of these soldiers.
A mother of one of these captives told reporters: "Yesterday's meeting with the Russian consul [in Gyumri] did not yield any results. They have been ‘sending us off’ for 1.5 years, deceiving [us] with something every day. ”
She added that it is only through the Red Cross that they are able to talk on the phone for four minutes with their captured relatives—and that's it.
Another parent said: "We have not received any response from the [Armenian] government. If our children were taken from the Russian peacekeepers [in Artsakh], natural, we shall come here [to the Russian embassy]. (…). We have petitioned to the [Armenian] authorities, too, but they have not given a specific answer."
