France thinks that the issue of cultural heritage in Karabakh should be dealt with, but this topic is under UNESCO jurisdiction, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Armenia Anne Louyot said at Monday press conference.

Her reamrks came referring to the official position of France on the issue of protection of heritage in Artsakh.

She told that France is well aware of the importance of preserving the heritage in Nagorno Karabakh and added that the topic was the subject of discussion at the meeting of the French, Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders on 4 February.

She said that they think UNESCO is the best format with regard to the heritage of Nagorno Karabakh adding that they continue efforts to involve UNESCO in this issue.
