ArmInfo. Turkey and Russia are negotiating the opening of a corridor via Armenia's Syunik province (the so-called Zangezur corridor), stated Turkish Deputy Minister of  Trade Riza Tuna Turagay.

"The high-level talks with Russia on opening the Zangezur corridor  are going on. We expect the corridor to be opened in the immediate  future," "Sputnik Azerbaijan quotes the official as saying.

The issue of soonest opening of the corridor is one of the priorities  in the context of expanding Turkish- Azerbaijani trade relations.  Turkey's aim is to increase trade with Azerbaijan from $5bln up to  $15bln. In this context, the Zangezur corridor is of high importance.

Official Yerevan is refuting the negotiations. However, on August 18,  it was reported that the Armenian side will set up checkpoint in  Sotk, Yeraskh and Karaunj on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
