Units of Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces have taken control of a number of heights and areas in the Lachin District near the border with Armenia ahead of the commissioning of a new motor road that will connect Karabakh to Armenia, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.
"Due to the commissioning of the new Lachin road, several commanding heights, main and subsidiary roads, as well as a vast area between the villages of Jagazur and Zabukh in the Lachin District were taken under control," the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in a statement.
