PRELATE TO PRESIDE OVER DIVINE LITURGY
AT ST. SARKIS CHURCH IN PASADENA
Sunday, September 2nd is the fourth Sunday following the Feast of the
Assumption of the Holy Mother of God. On this occasion, H.E. Archbishop
Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, will preside over Divine Liturgy at St.
Sarkis Church in Pasadena. The Prelate will also deliver the sermon.
COMMEMORATION OF THE 92ND ANNIVERSARY OF
THE BATTLE OF MOUSA DAGH
On Sunday, September 2nd, the Mousa Dagh Compatriotic Union will commemorate
the 92nd anniversary of the heroic battle of Mousa Dagh with Divine Liturgy,
madaghorhnek, and various festivities. The commemoration will take place at
the Fresno Police Association’s Training Grounds.
The Prelate has delegated Archpriest Rev. Khoren Habeshian to
celebrate Divine Liturgy and preside over the blessing of madagh.
PRELATE CONVEYS WELL WISHES TO
H.E. ARCHBISHOP VATCHE HOVSEPIAN
On Tuesday, August 28, the Prelate visited H.E. Archbishop Vatche Hovsepian
at Glendale Adventist Hospital to wish him a quick recovery and good health
following heart surgery. Very Rev. Fathers Muron Aznikian and Barthev
Gulumian accompanied the Prelate.
A few weeks ago, Archbishop Hovsepian had visited the Prelacy to
congratulate the Prelate on the new headquarters and wish success in all
future endeavors.
PRELATE OFFICIATES OVER THE GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY OF THE ARMENIAN SOCIETY
OF LOS ANGELES NEW CENTER
On Wednesday, August 29th, the Armenian Society of Los Angeles celebrated a
milestone with the blessing of the foundation for their new center in
Glendale. H.E. Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, Prelate, and H.E.
Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate, officiated over the ceremony with the
participation of clergy members. Among the invited guests in attendance
were Glendale Mayor Ara Najarian and elected officials.
Accompanying the Prelate were Christian Education Department
Directors Very Rev. Fathers Muron Aznikian and Barthev Gulumian, as well as
pastors of St. Mary’s Church and Holy Martyrs Church.
Following the service, the Prelate conveyed his best wishes to
the association and wished them success in their upcoming project. A
reception followed at Brandview Collection.
PRELACY SCHOOLS PREPARE TO COMMENCE
THE NEW ACADEMIC YEAR
On Wednesday, September 5, Prelacy schools will officially commence the
2007-2008 academic year with the traditional opening ceremonies.
The ceremonies will include prayers led by our pastors who will also convey
the Prelate’s blessings and message to the principals, staff, and students.
