ArmInfo. Government of Armenia approved an African swine fever combat
program that penetrated into the country from neighboring Georgia a
month before.
Head of the State Food Safety and Veterinary Inspectorate Grisha
Bagyan said at a briefing that the program provides for localization
of focuses of infection to prevent virus penetration and to liquidate
it. He said seven focuses of infection have been registered in
Tavush and Lori regions bordering with Georgia. These regions are
under quarantine. Some 1,800 animals have been liquidated, G. Bagyan
said. He said the government instructed the Ministry of Finance and
Economy to calculate the damage caused to farmers to recompense it

manufactured meat is delivered to Georgia and Ukraine. G. Bagyan said
the virus does not develop in the human organism.
