President Kocharyan Holds Working Consultations

PRESIDENT KOCHARYAN HOLDS WORKING CONSULTATIONS

Issues related to fighting corruption, reduction of the volume of
shadow economy were discussed during President Kocharyan’s working
consultations, featuring the Prime Minister, the Head of Staff of the
President’s Office, Heads of the Tax and Custom Services, the Chief
of Police, the Head of the President’s Oversight Service, the Deputy
Chief of the National Security Service, Deputy Prosecutor General,
other officials.

Robert Kocharyan expressed concern over the insufficient tax
management, lack of proper control, the imperfectness of the
legislative field.

President Kocharyan mentioned that in order to give solution to
the existing problems, it is necessary to apply a complex program
of actions, which will enable to close the loopholes for unfair
tax payers and to reach rapid results as regards the fight against
shadow economy. The President instructed to present suggestions on
the above-mentioned program of measures within a two-day period and
to prepare a corresponding package of legislative amendments.
