The World Wrestling Championship held in Baku was but a failure for
Armenian sportsmen. Armenian Greco-Roman style wrestler Roman Amoyan
(55 kg), the European champion in 2006, was beaten by Azeri Rovshan
Bayramov at the first round.

The Armenian wrestler began the fight very successfully and won the
first half by the score of 3:1.

At the second half Amoyan was beaten 1:2. The final third half ended
in 3:3. Bayramov won over Amoyan due to technical points.

According to the regulations, in case on of the athletes is beaten,
he is given a chance to strive for the bronze medal.
