EXPOSITION OF ARMENIAN MEDIEVAL MANUSCRIPTS AND BOOKS IN GENEVA

An exposition of Armenian medieval manuscripts and books ‘Armenian
Miniatures: Matenadaran Collection’ has opened in Geneva.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry press-service told ArmInfo the event is
held under the aegis of Swiss President Michelin Calmy-Rey and Armenian
Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan with combined efforts of Yerevan
Institute of Ancient Manuscripts after M. Mashtots ‘Matenadaran’,
Martin Bodmer Foundation and Armenian Embassy in Switzerland. Armenian
Education and Science Minister Levon Lazarian, ‘Matenadaran’ Director
Hranch Tamrazyan, Chairman of the Geneva Canton Council Charles Ber ,
high- ranking officials, representatives of international organizations
and diplomats attended the event.

The exposition presents the contribution of Armenia, as a country
on the crossroad of the West and the East, to the world treasury of
religious culture, as well as the influence of religion, philosophy,
culture, art and science on the origin of the Armenian people. The
exposition will be open till December 30.
