WILL ALVINA GYULUMYAN REMAIN IN THE POST OF JUDGE?

On 2-3 October PACE delegates will elect the judge
representing Armenia in the European Court of Human
Rights – electing between three candidates.
The candidates are: Alvina Gyulumyan, current judge of
the European Court, Deputy Minister of Justice Gevorg
Kostanyan, who is the RA Government’s representative
to the European Court and Nelly Harutyunyan, Head of
International Legal Relations at the Office of the
Prosecutor General.
PACE delegates will elect judges from 16 countries,
among them Azerbaijan, Andorra, Ukraine, Turkey etc.
The speech of the Turkish newly appointed president
Abdula Gyul is due during the PACE Autumn Session on
1-5 October in Strasburg. He will also answer to the
questions of deputies.
The RA NA delegation headed by David Harutyunyan will
participate in the Autumn session for the first time.
