Dashnaktsutyun Proposes Other Party Of Surprise

DASHNAKTSUTYUN PROPOSES OTHER PARTY OF SURPRISE

Lragir, Armenia

Why the society is not surprised at the predetermined candidate whereas
the information about two ARF Dashnaktsutyun candidates surprises it,
asks Vahan Hovanisyan, member of the ARF Bureau, who is one of the
two candidates nominated by the ARF Dashnaktsutyun. Vahan Hovanisyan
held a news conference on September 25 and said the society should
be surprised at a party which sets up presidential candidates without
any debate inside the party.

"There are parties during the conferences of which someone says there
is a proposal to elect one person or another to somewhere. Nobody
is interested where this proposal occurred. Our meetings are not
such and because the participants of the General Meeting take this
issue seriously, they decided to make two nominations and afterwards
after having studied the moods and considering the public opinion,
to make a definitive decision," Vahan Hovanisyan says.

He says no tense struggle between him and Armen Rustamyan should be
expected for not only they share ideas but also they are friends.

"Even if we compete, we will be competing in our speeches, our
approaches and some nuances, some differences may impress people. At
any rate, Hovanisyan or Rustamyan does not matter, the matter is that
the candidate of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun should win," the member of
the ARF Bureau says.
