WE SHOULD NOT CORRECT THE HISTORY WHEN MANY WITNESSED IT

"I do not think that one should correct the history, when it occurred
not long ago, and many witnessed it and remember it. However, Vazgen
Sargsyan entered the history as the commander of an army that gained
victory", said Hermine Naghdalyan, member of the "Republican Party
of Armenia", commenting on the last confession of Samvel Babayan how
Serge Sargsyan came to Armenia.

We should remind that Samvel Babayan, former commander of the NKR army,
in an interview to a newspaper said: "It is a myth, that Serge Sargsyan
allegedly left Karabakh because of the conflict between us. If you
remember, in 1993 spring, the Armenian supreme authorities relieved
Vazgen Manukyan of the post of the Defense Minister to solve their
inner problems and motivated it by Vazgen Manukyan’s bad health state.

Vazgen Sargsyan could not be appointed to the post of the Defense
Minister, since he left when we were defeated in the front. Taking
this into consideration, Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Vazgen Sargsyan
asked Serge Sargsyan, who was the Defense Minister of Karabakh,
to head the Defense Ministry of Armenia"’.

Thus, Mr Babayan ascribed the failures to Vazgen Sargsyan, and
victories – to Serge Sargsyan.

Hermine Naghdalyan reminds Mr Babayan: "We appeared in various
situations during the war, we were defeated and won victory and I do
not think that the mentioned process should be identified with this
or that person.

That was gained by the army and was the result of our nation’s hard
work. We failed during the war but we also obtained success. And in
my opinion, we should not ascribe the victories to one commander and
the failures to another one. The war was our nation’s victory".

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
