"THE INTERNATIONAL UNION OF THE ARMENIAN WOMEN" CELEBRATES ITS 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF FOUNDATION

In 1991, a group of patriotic women in Boston (US) founded "The
International Union of the Armenian Women"(IUAW). In 1992, similar
institution was founded also in the independent Republic of Armenia.
Today IUAW has branches in the provinces of Armenia, also in Moscow,
St. Petersburg, NKR.
Hundreds of women of different spheres (science, education, culture,
healthcare, economy, etc.) are the members of the union, who carry out
an important mission of activation of Motherland-Diaspora cooperation
and unification of the opportunities of the Armenian women from all
over the world.
"Our aim is to help the Armenian women to work, to have a wide sphere
of activities and to be involved in the development of the economic
and political life of our country", said the Chairwoman of IUAW,
RA MP Hranush Hakobian.
Celebration of the 15th Anniversary of IUAW will be held in Yerevan
and provinces of Armenia in October 2-7. The opening ceremony, titled
"Everything for children", will be held in October 2, at 5 p.m.,
in the city center of Yerevan.
