October 10, 2007 – RA Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan received the
Romanian delegation at the head of Defense Minister Teodor Melescanu.

The RA Prime Minister highlighted the Romanian Defense Minister’s
visit in view of strengthening of bilateral relations. According to
Serge Sargsyan, Romania is friendly disposed to Armenia.

During the meeting the parties turned to the current stage of military
and military-technical cooperation existing between the two countries
stating that there are all preconditions to develop the cooperation
especially in the sphere of military education.

Serge Sargsyan noted that Armenia regards Romania as a
NATO member-state and will apply Romanian experience in the
country. NATO-Armenia collaboration has deepened in recent years,
Sargsyan said.

At the end of the meeting the plan of cooperation for 2008 was signed
between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia and the
Ministry of National Defense of Romania.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
