ACCORDING TO DEBRA CAGAN, ARMENIAN REGIMENT SERVES IN PEACEKEEPING
FORCES IN IRAQ PERFECTLY WELL
YEREVAN, OCTOBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. Attaching importance to the
development of the cooperation and relations between Armenia and the
United States of America, Serge Sargsian expressed satisfaction with
the fact that they are strengthening and becoming more expanded in
the course of time during the October 11 meeting with Debra Cagan,
the Deputy Assistant Secretary to the U.S. Defence Secretary. He also
expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the U.S.
government to Armenia in different spheres, including the sphere of
defense. The Prime Minister highly appreciated the assistance
provided to our country within the frameworks of the Millennium
Challenge Fund (MCF) during this period, in particular.
According to the information provided to Noyan Tapan by the
Information and Public Relations Department of the RA Government,
Dabra Cagan as well stressed that the cooperation between the two
countries is developing year after year. She, in her turn, thanked
for the perfect service of the Armenian regiment in the peacekeeping
forces in Iraq, which, in her words, she has witnessed during the
visit paid to Iraq.
Rudolf Perina, Charge d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy to Armenia, has
also taken part in the meeting.
According to the information provided to Noyan Tapan by the RA
Ministry of Defence, Mikhail Haroutiunian, the RA Minister of
Defence, received Debra Cagan on the same day. During the meeting
they touched upon the developments of the current stage of the
Armenian-American bilateral military cooperation, the reforms being
implemented in the RA Armed Forces and the assistance programs being
carried out in the RA Armed Forces by the United States of America.
