UN has no stance on the Armenian Genocide
12.10.2007 15:06

The UN does not comment on the adoption of the measure calling the
massacre of Armenians in the Ottoman Turkey in 1915-1923 as genocide
in the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the Associated Press
reported.

`As for the UN stance on the issue, members of the organization have
not elaborated strategy on the mass killing of Armenian men, women
and children during World War I. It happened before the organization
was established,’ UN Secretary General Spokeswoman Marie Okabe
declared Thursday.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
