YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, NOYAN TAPAN. A criminal case has been filed
against certain participants of the procession of the opposition
representatives held in Yerevan on October 23 on the indications
of hooliganism and showing resistence to the collaborators of the
police. This information was provided to journalists by Ararat
Mahtesian, the first Deputy Chief of the Police, in the RA National
Assembly on October 24. He refused to make any commentary, mentioning
that a prliminary investigation is being conducted. At the same time,
the Deputy Chief of the Police did not agree to that observation
of journalists, according to which the procession was of peaceful
character, mentioning that "there have been numerous dissatisfactions
from citizens."
