CONSTRUCTION GROWS BY 18.3% IN ARMENIA IN JANUARY-SEPTEMBER 2007 ON SAME PERIOD OF LAST YEAR

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 31, NOYAN TAPAN. In January-September 2007,
construction of 418 bln 669.6 mln drams (about 1 bln 194.8 mln USD),
including construction of production facilities of 134 bln 692.5 mln
drams, was done in Armenia.

Building and assembly work made up 378 bln 288.7 mln drams (building
and assembly work of production facilities of 112 bln 339.2 mln drams)
of the indicated amount of construction work.

According to the National Statistical Service of the RA,
construction grew by 18.3%, building and assembly work – by 18.7%
in January-September 2007 on the same period of 2006.

In the first nine months of this year, 10.2% of construction was
done with state budgetary resources, 0.6% – with resources of the RA
government’s reserve fund, 0.1% – with community resources, 6.4% – at
the expense of humanitarian aid, donor and charitable organizations,
20% – with resources of private organizations, and 65.4% – with
resources of the population.
