Armenian-Korean Cultural Cooperation Enters New Stage

ARMENIAN-KOREAN CULTURAL COOPERATION ENTERS NEW STAGE

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 5, NOYAN TAPAN. The 15th anniversary of establishment
of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Korea was marked. The
Yechzhon Korean national dance group, which had arrived in Yerevan on
that occasion, performed at G. Sundukian National Academic Theater
in the evening of November 4. Hasmik Poghosian, the RA Minister
of Culture, stated this at the meeting organized on November 5 at
the Ministry.

According to the Minister, still young, yet fully-fledged political
and economic cooperation of the two countries develops gradually
paving a way for cultural partnership. Hasmik Poghosian said that
since establishment of diplomatic relations, year 2000, Days of
Korean Cinema have been held in Armenia and Armenian films took part
in Pusan International Film Festival in 2006.

The Minister of Culture assured that the agreement on Armenian-Korean
cultural cooperation will be ratified in the future and these relations
will become more active in conditions of presence of the legal field.

Park Sang-Hun, the Envoy and Plenipotentiary Minister of the Korean
Embassy, who was present at the meeting, appreciating the bilateral
relations, at the same time attached importance to the necessity of
cultural cooperation, as it will contribute to mutual familiarization
of the two peoples: "Culture is the only way of friendship and
cooperation between nations and peoples."
