ArmInfo. Turkey views with cautious optimism the fact that supporters
of the Resolution N106, which envisages recognition of the Armenian
Genocide, addressed speaker of the Nancy Pelosi, having called to
delay discussion of this Resolution on the floor of US Congress,
Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Erdogan said in his speech in the
National press-club in Washington.

As FDCH e-MEDIA reports, the prime minister said that this draft has
the potential to deeply damage Turkey-USA strategic cooperation. And
it is important to ensure that it is not discussed on the floor of
the Congress.

Some circles say that resolutions of this kind are nonbinding, but the
fact that Congress, as the legislative body of our strategic partner
the United States is engaged in efforts that amount to a political
judgment of Turkey is sad for us to see.
