REPAIRS OF 6 MAIN WATER CANALS TO START IN ARMENIA NEXT YEAR

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. Armwaterproject Institute has
already started the design work on repairs of the main irrigation
water canals: of Artashat, Lower Hrazdan, Arzni-Shamiram, Shirak,
Talin and Armavir, which is being done under the Millennium Challenge
Program, NT correspondent was informed by Adibek Ghazarian, director of
the Armenian Irrigation Systems Development Program’s implementation
office. According to him, about 1.5 million dollars will be spent on
the design of these objects of the total length of about 450 km.

According to A. Ghazarian, repairs of these water canals will start
from September of next year. About 18 million dollars is needed for
this work, which is envisaged to be completed in three years.
