International Judo Tournament Held In Yerevan

INTERNATIONAL JUDO TOURNAMENT HELD IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 12, NOYAN TAPAN. Grand Prix International Judo
Tournament was held on November 10 at Yerevan’s Alexander Spendiarian
National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet. Representatives of 11
countries took part in it. Three weight categories with eight sportsmen
in each were included in the program. Six judoists represented Armenia.

Greg Falo (60 kg, England), Milos Mikhalkovich (66 kg, Serbia), and
Roman Kondyuk (81 kg, Ukraine) won in the tournament. In the final,
they beat Hovhannes Davtian (Gyumri), Armen Nazarian (Hrazdan),
and David Kekhkishvili (Tbilisi), respectively.

The tournament winners received monetary prizes of 20, 6, and 2
thousand USD, respectively. 10 thousand USD was given to Roman Kondyuk
(Ukraine), who gained the quickest victory. The event was dedicated
to the 130th anniversary of foundation of Yerevan Brandy-Wine-Vodka
Factory.
