"We shall soon publish the outcome of the check-ups and our residents
will come to know how that businessman has cheated the Republic
of Armenia," RA President Robert Kocharian said with regard to
the recent check-ups conducted in enterprises belonging to deputy
Khachatur Sukiassian.

In reply to the question whether a businessmen should be pursued for
his outrageous views, Robert Kocharian said, "I am not bound to be
aware of all check-ups. As you know the state carries out a consistent
tax policy, and all businessmen are provided with an equal footing."

"As reported earlier, the list of tax-payers will have been published
by the turn of the year, and you will see that most of our businessmen,
including NA deputies, do not evade taxes. It means that people come to
realise that the country has adopted an anti-corruption policy. There
are people who are reluctant to pay taxes, and they are trying to
politicize this issue, and are raising this rumpus to pay less taxes,"
the RA President said.

Robert Kocharian states that well-off people should have heart
remorse and allot part of their income to the state to solve social
issues. "Peevishness leads to nowhere," Kocharian said.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
