ZHARANGUTIUN FACTION OFFERS TO PROVIDE STATE ASSISTANCE FOR ARMENIAN STUDENTS STUDYING ABROAD

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 14, NOYAN TAPAN. The Zharangutiun (Heritage) faction
of the RA National Assembly has passed on to the Prime Minister the
suggestion of professor Arthur Ishkhanian, a correspondent member of
the RA National Academy of Sciences, on creating a state fund for the
purpose of providing assistance to the Armenian young people studying
in foreign high-rating universities.
According to the statement made by Anahit Bakhshian, a member of the
above-mentioned faction, on November 13, the issue is of strategical
significance for the country, as an ooportunity is created to morally
and by the application of certain mechanisms promote the return of
talented young people to their homeland for the purpose of serving
to the development of the country. She mentioned that the program can
be even more productive with the investments of the Diaspora. Taking
into consideration the circumstance that the sphere of education was
recognized as a supreme one by the 2008 state budget, the MP expressed
hope that the Prime Minister will contribute to the creation of a
similar fund.
