BAKU, YEREVAN COORDINATE SOME OF OSCE MINSK GROUP’S PROPOSALS
Baku and Yerevan have coordinated some of the Karabakh settlement
proposals of the OSCE Minsk Group, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar
Mamedyarov said in Madrid on Thursday.
"Some of the proposals have been coordinated. In our opinion, the
problem is only rooted in two or even one question," he said.
"It is a question of eliminating possible stumbling blocks: the
occupation of territories, the breach of communications and the
resettlement of refugees."
The Azeri position in the Karabakh settlement is invariable, the
minister said.
"Karabakh and its people are part of Azerbaijan, and ethnic Azeris
who lived in that area before 1988 and must go home," he said.
"It is impossible to define the legal status of Karabakh in
accordance with international law without that," the minister said.
