The Armenian army is rapidly developing, but Armenia needs a small and
professional army, and we must aspire to that. Hero of the Artsakhi
liberation war Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan (Commandos) said during the
meeting with students of the Yerevan State University that having
professional army is very expensive, but in any sphere problems are
solved by professionals.

"The main guarantee of our army’s power is its national homogeneity.

The rival does not have that advantage. About ten nations live in
Azerbaijan. Ethnic controversies occur between them in the army,
which is very dangerous," Ter-Tadevosyan said.

Turning to the peculiarities of the Armenian army, he noted that
almost all Armenian officers studying abroad return to Motherland,
while 40% of Azerbaijani Officers do not return and settle in more
prosperous countries.

"Nevertheless, if Azerbaijan was somewhat confident of its victory,
it would have resumed war long ago," Ter-Tadevosyan added.
