HERITAGE PARTY WILL NOT NOMINATE A CANDIDATE

Today the board of the Heritage Party discussed issues relating to
the presidential election of February 19, 2008. During the discussion
the members of the board and the other participants of the meeting
regretted that the leader of the party is artificially deprived of
the legitimate right to be nominated for the presidential candidate.

Raffi Hovannisian said they believe that the post of president is not
an award, and their intention to name president aimed to bring into
being their vision as citizens and patriots, however, they are not
going to be passive, and they will make efforts to enable the
citizens of Armenia to get acquainted with the programs, opinions,
approaches and merits of all the candidates to make a free and
acknowledged vote.

The board of the party decided to scrutinize the advantages,
approaches and programs of the candidates through consultations and
negotiations to make a decision. In the end of the meeting the
representative of the Heritage Party to the Central Electoral
Commission Zoya Tadevosyan called on the members of the board who are
involved in the divisional commissions to be unbiased and committed
to a free, fair and transparent election, the press service of the
