THE NUMBER OF CANDIDATES FOR ARMENIAN PRESIDENCY GROWING
Armenian Deputy Speaker and member of the Dashnaktsutyun party Vaan
Ovannisian and leader of the People’s Party, head of the ALM media
holding Tigran Karapetian have submitted documents required for the
participation in the Armenian presidential elections to the Armenian
Central Elections Commission (CEC), its press secretary Tatevik
Oganian told Interfax.
December 6 is the deadline for submitting documents for the
participation in the Armenian presidential race.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister, leader of the Republican Party
Serzh Sarkisian, leader of the National Democratic Union Vazgen
Manukian, former Armenian President Levon Ter-Petrosian, and leader
of the National Unity Party Artashes Gegamian also submitted such
documents.
The Armenian presidential elections will take place on February 19,
2008.
