DASHNAKTSUTYUN WILL NOT MAKE EXTRAORDINARY EFFORTS
The leader of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary faction Hrair
Karapetyan said during the parliamentary briefings on December 7 in
answer to the question of reporters that he does not think the
parliamentary election program of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun and the
program of Vahan Hovanisyan, the candidate of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun
to the presidential election will differ much.
`I don’t think there will be any difference because the ARF
Dashnaktsutyun is a party where whoever the candidate is, he must
represent the ideology and principles of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun. The
principles which we put forward during the parliamentary election
will underlie the activities of the presidential candidate, his
platform. Nevertheless, some editing is possible because the powers
of the president are more than the National Assembly’s,’ Hrair
Karapetyan says.
He said the ARF Dashnaktsutyun is not going to make extraordinary
efforts to have other parties support the ARF Dashnaktsutyun in the
presidential election. `We are a well-established force, but those
who will wish to be beside us and to share our ideas, our principles,
our approaches, we will only welcome them. Including the Heritage
Party,’ said Hrair Karapetyan in answer to the question whether the
ARF Dashnaktsutyun will make any steps to attract the Heritage Party
which has not made up its mind yet.
Hrair Karapetyan thinks the bulk of voters will support the ARF
Dashnaktsutyun, who are already acquainted with the activities of the
ARF Dashnaktsutyun as a well-established force in the Armenian
reality. `First of all, we rely on this potential. Then on the
political forces whose activities stem from the national interests.
Whoever states to support us, I think you will support us,’ Hrair
Karapetyan says.
