ELECTION OF RA NATIONAL ASSEMBLY STANDING COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN TO BE HELD ON DECEMBER 6

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, NOYAN TAPAN. The election of Chairman of the
Standing Committee for Human Rights and Public Affairs will be held
through secret ballot on December 6 at the RA National Assembly. The
names of Larisa Alaverdian, a member of the Zharangutiun (Heritage)
faction, the first RA Ombudsperson, and Mkhitar Mnatsakanian, a member
of the Bargavach Hayastan (Prosperous Armenia) faction, the Chairman
of the Red Cross Armenian Association, are on the ballot-paper. Samvel
Nikoyan, the Chairman of the NA Ad Hoq Calculation Commission, stated
this at the NA December 5 sitting.

Before holding the election, the NA envisages to vote the bills
discussed on December 5, including the bill On Local Self-government
and Territorial Administration in the City of Yerevan and package of
amendments and addenda to 21 laws proceeding from it.
