POLICE WARN FOREIGNERS TO EXTEND THEIR VISAS AND RESIDENCE PERMITS ON TIME

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 13, NOYAN TAPAN. The RA police issued a announcement
to remind the foreigners living in Armenia that under the RA Law on
Foreigners, in the Republic of Armenia, foreigners may extend their
entry visas and residence permits 2 days before the expiry of the
entry visa and 30 days before the expiry of the residence permit.

Visas and pemits are extended only at the RA Police Passport and Visa
Department (13a Mashtots Avenue, Yerevan).

The police also warn that if a foreigner lives in the RA without
a valid visa or residence permit, he/she is held responsible by
Article 201 of the RA Law on Administrative Infringements: a fine in
the amount of 50-100 minimum salaries established in the Republic of
Armenia is imposed.

According to the announcement, under Article 8 of the RA Law on
Foreigners, the provision of a visa (or its extension) is denied
to a foreigner, as well as the granted entry visa is recognized as
invalid and the entry into the RA is forbidden, if the foreigner has
been subjected to administrative responsibility and less than a year
has passed since the decision on it.
