ArmInfo. Improvement of the relations between Armenia and Turkey in
prospect will inevitably improve the situation in the Karabakh peace
process, Editor of the analytical issue "Third view", World Ambassador
Rauf Radjabov told ArmInfo correspondent.
According to him, the statement on Turkey’s admission to EU recently
made by Serzh Sargsyan, the Armenian prime minister and front-runner
in the pre-electoral race, is positive and shows that Armenia has
started changing its position with respect to Turkey. "One shouldn’t
forget that Turkey is Azerbaijan’s strategic partner, even more than
a strategic partner. At the moment, not a single country is so close
to Azerbaijan as Turkey. Therefore, in this case improvement of the
relations between Armenia and Turkey in prospect will inevitably
lead to the improvement of the situation in the Karabakh peace
process. Being no party to the peace process, Turkey is also involved
through Azerbaijan", Radjabov said. He recalled that Ankara stated
for several times that it won’t open the border with Armenia without
the settlement of the conflict.
