99 citizens appealed to the traumatic department of a surgery
hospital after Gyulbenkyan in Gyumri during December. 63-year-old
Vielta Grigoryan was frostbitten. Her frostbitten feet were amputated.

63-year-old woman lost her shelter after 1988 earthquake and has
not got one until present day. She lives where she finds a place to
stay. She has the status of a homeless, but does not have any hope
to get an apartment and does not know what to do.

Doctors say that her treatment will last long, and then she will
probably be moved to an old-aged pensioner’s home.

The ice-covered roads in Gyumri are a scourge not only for drivers,
but also for pedestrians. More that 99 cases of various fractures
were registered at Gyumri surgery hospital after Gyulbenkyan started
from 1 December until the present day. 55 patients received in-patient
treatment. Many of them have fractures of upper and lower extremities.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
