VARDAN OSKANIAN: ARMENIA-RUSSIA STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP IS IMPORTANT FACTOR FOR ARMENIA’S SECURITY

YEREVAN, JANUARY 9, NOYAN TAPAN. "Armenia-Russia strategic partnership
is an important factor for ensuring our country’s economic progress
and security," RA Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian stated at the
January 9 press conference.

According to him, the bilateral relations passed to a new development
stage in 2007, which was marked by considerable progress in
cooperation in economic sphere. According to V. Oskanian, it was
greatly conditioned by the permanent dialogue, intensive character
of high-level contacts.

As V. Oskanian characterized, Russia is one of the biggest trade
and economic partners of Armenia. Armenia’s commodity circulation
with Russia grew by 65% in 2007. During the nine months of the
current years, as compared with the previous year, the investments
of Russia into different economic spheres of Armenia increased more
than five-fold.
