EXPERTS EXPECT CHANGES TO POVERTY REDUCTION STRATEGY
Hovhannes Azizian, head of the office for the Poverty
Reduction Strategy, stated that certain changes to the
poverty reduction strategy are expected. He said
public hearings on the renewed strategy will be held
in Yerevan and the regions of Armenia, it will be
discussed by the board to extend it to the government
in the upcoming month.
The strategy focuses on economic development and
implementation of special programs in separate regions
of Armenia. The strategy has foreseen to eradicate
extreme poverty and reduce poverty from 26.5 percent
to 6 percent by 2021.
