Will oppositionists unite by February 19"

"WILL OPPOSITIONISTS UNITE BY FEBRUARY 19?"

Heghine Bisharian, head of the pre-election headquarters for OYP
leader and presidential candidate Arthur Baghdasarian, didn’t rule
out that oppositional forces might unite by February 19.

Asked whether they might join before the second round, the OYP Deputy
Chairwoman said, "Yes, everything is possible," she said to A1+.

"I am more than confident that the oppositional forces will sooner
or later unite. Personalities don’t matter. The idea of unification
is more important."

The OYP Deputy Chairwoman called on the oppositionists "to cheer up
and to struggle to the end."

Heghine Bisharian promised A1+ to name all people who had been
threatened by the authorities.

Bisharian says Arthur Baghadasarian’s campaign is not properly covered
by mass media which is already a rough breach of the Electoral Code.

Mrs. Bisharian is content with observers’ work. "They frequently
attend our office to get familiarized with problems existing both in
the capital and in marzes."

The OYP Deputy Chairwoman dispelled the rumours that oppositional
candidates avoid debates. "Arthur Baghdasarian was the first to urge
the candidates to participate in debates. Our candidate is ready to
debate with all candidates. Our citizens should finally realise who
they are voting for. Therefore, the OYP has chosen the motto "Open
your eyes, Armenia!"

"Today Armenia’s civilians are not ready for elections. They are
either threatened or bribed. They are unable to resist officials’
pressures. They lack full concentration while participating at
elections.

Such voting is inadmissible for me."

Heghine Bisharian says people will come to know a lot of things if
they attend their rally due on February 3.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
