Involving the Nagorno-Karabakh region into the negotiations on
settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will not promote the
settlement process, the chair of the European Union, the Slovenian
Foreign Minister Dimitri Rupel said at a press conference on 6
February, the Novosti Armenia quoted.
"I do not think involvement of one more side into the negotiations on
the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will promote
the process. With the assistance of the OSCE Minsk Group’s co-chairs
the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents and Foreign Ministers are
holding active negotiations to find solutions to the conflict,"
he said.
According to Rupel, the OSCE Minsk Group is actively assisting in
the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Moreover, active
negotiations are held within the framework of other international
organizations and all necessary measures are currently being taken.
