40 "LEGAL AMBULANCE" CARS WILL BE ON DUTY ON THE ELECTION DAY IN THE TERRITORY OF ARMENIA

Yerevan /Mediamax/. The calls, received in the course of the recent
15 days by "Hotline" of the "Legal Initiative, Elections 2008" civil
group exceeded the number of calls, received in the course of the
whole period of parliamentary elections 2007.

Mediamax reports that the representatives of "Legal Initiative,
Elections 2008" program Karen Andreasian and Gayane Markosian said
this in Yerevan today.

"Up to March 15, "Hotline" of free legal advice will be functioning
by 080-080-804 telephone number, by which it will be possible to
turn with any questions, concerning violations of the electoral right
of the citizens, as well as violation of the rights of the Armenian
presidential candidates", Karen Andreasian stated.

Karen Andreasian noted that from the presidential candidates Arman
Melikian turned to them for legal advice with the question on
reestablishment of the electoral right of the citizens of Armenia,
residing abroad, as well as the representatives of Vazgen Manukian’s
and Levon Ter-Petrosian’s headquarters.

Karen Andreasian informed that on the election day of February 19,
"legal ambulance" will be functioning in the whole territory of the
country. It will be possible to call the "ambulance" in case there
are any violations in the process of the elections revealed. In the
whole territory of Armenia 40 cars of "legal ambulance" will be on
duty on the day of elections.

"In the period of the parliamentary elections we also provided such
services, received calls about violations, however the witnesses
were afraid to confirm the facts of violation of the law", Karen
Andreasian stated, noting that the atmosphere of fear in the society
can be overcome "by constantly giving the people the opportunity to
defend their rights".
