ALL CANDIDATES ARE HERE TO STAY: BALLOTS WILL BE PRINTED AT NIGHT

On February 9 the Central Election Commission has affirmed the specimen
of the ballot of the Armenian presidential election, which will be
sent to press at 12 pm on February 9. The ballots will be printed
at Tigran Mets Press in 2 million 320 thousand 375 copies because
officially there are as many voters in Armenia.

The intrigue of the day is that February 9 is the deadline when one
of the nine presidential candidates may withdraw from the race to
support another candidate or for another reason. However, it did not
happen, the CEC has received no applications from the candidates,
and the citizens of Armenia who will open the ballot on February 19
will find the names of all the nine candidates.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
