ArmInfo. At the Feb 17 emergency meeting, the Central Electoral
Commission (CEC) gave its consent to bringing Karen Hayrapetyan, a
member of a precinct election commission of the 14th constituency in
Ashtarak, Aragatsotn region, to criminal responsibility.
Hamlet Abrahamyan, a member of the Armenian CEC, told ArmInfo
correspondent after the emergency meeting that on Feb 3 Karen
Hayrapetyan beat a policeman in a drunken state. The policeman was
trying to call Hayrapetyan to order. Now Hayrapetyan is expected to
undergo court proceedings.
At the Feb 17 meeting the CEC also took a decision concerning the
special stamp to confirm voters’ participation in the poll. According
to the electoral legislation, the stamp is to be put on the 32nd (last
but one) page of the voters’ passports. By the CEC’s decision, the
precinct election commission’s stamp is to be put on the last page of
the passport if the 32nd page is completely filled with exit visas.
