THE ELDEST PERSON IN ARMENIA 117 YEARS OLD

Armenian passport and visa department head, Alvina Zakaryan, told
reporters today the pace of work on compilation and correction of the
voter lists for the presidential elections of February 19 conducted
since the last meeting with the reporters.

14.996 Armenian passports of person above 18 year old were
published. Six thousand one hundred sixty one passports were cancelled
from the computer database for persons who were found dead. One hundred
seventy seven citizens without registration submitted applications
for inclusion in the voting lists.

Alvina Zakaryan said the central electoral committee was provided
the number of voters according to election communities and precincts.

In reply to a statement by some mass media that the eldest person in
Armenia is 150 years old, the department head said that the eldest
person is 117 years old. There are 824 citizens above 100 and 2 passed
away in Ijevan yesterday.

Speaking about the election by those in treatment in hospitals,
Zakaryan said it may be done based on their application. So, those
who express wish can take part in the elections. Their final number
is not known yet.
